Ron HinnRon is a Vice President at PetroSkills, the world’s leading training company for the upstream petroleum industry.  Prior to joining PetroSkills, Ron worked for Occidental Oil and Gas in multiple roles including technical talent, and engineering knowledge management.  He received a petroleum engineering degree from The University of Tulsa.

Ron has been an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since his days as a student member at Tulsa.  He has held many positions at local and national levels, including chairman of the 11,000 member Gulf Coast Section.  He is an SPE Distinguished Member.

Over the past twenty years, Ron has also been actively involved in the accreditation of engineering programs across the United States.  In 2000, he held the position of Chairman of the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), the first petroleum engineer in its history to do so.   This body, made up of representatives from over 20 professional engineering societies, oversees the engineering and technology accreditation of undergraduate and graduate programs across the United States.

Ron met his wife Jean at The University of Tulsa.  Jean is also a petroleum engineer.
