Allen Sinor

Allen SinorAllen Sinor is Vice President, Global Accounts (ExxonMobil), for Baker Hughes and brings 30+ years of experience in drilling research and development. Allen previously worked as Vice President, Drill Bits; Vice President, Technology; Director, Applications Engineering; and Director, Drilling Research. Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Allen spent 14 years at Amoco’s research center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focusing on their Critical Drilling Facility and on the disciplines of drilling mechanics and downhole tools. He also has considerable well planning experience, from working in Norway, Egypt, Trinidad, Gulf of Mexico and U.S. Land critical projects.

Notable accomplishments include building and staffing of the Baker Hughes Experimental Test facility (BETA), the industry’s only fully functional field research facility dedicated to cross-product-line testing and development. Sinor has contributed to 23 technical papers and 24 U.S. patents. He has been a Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Lecturer and has served on numerous SPE, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE) committees. Industry recognition includes two Meritorious Engineering Awards from Hart’s E&P magazine, four World Oil awards for product innovation, SPE Drilling and Completion Best Paper of the Year, U.S. National Committee for Rock Mechanics Case History Research Award and was recipient of the 2010 SPE Drilling Engineering Award. Sinor earned his degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa.
