Mark W. O'Brien

Mark O'BrienMark O'Brien is a native Tulsan who graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tulsa (TU) in 1991. He started his career with Exxon working as a facility engineer in Exxon’s Prudhoe Bay joint venture operation with Arco/BP on the Alaskan North Slope. He then had various facility and reservoir engineering assignments working some of Exxon’s Permian Basin assets, primarily carbonate reef waterfloods near Snyder, Texas and the Means San Andres CO2 flood near Andrews, Texas. Mark left Exxon in 1998 to work for XTO Energy as a reservoir development engineer working the Hugoton gas field in the Texas Panhandle area. From there, he had similar assignments working the East Texas and Fort Worth basins and in 2011 became reservoir development manager for XTO’s Fort Worth basin assets. XTO’s Gulf Coast assets were added to his management responsibilities in 2013.
