Chris JacobsonIn 2010, Premier Natural Resources LLC (PNR) and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) formed a partnership to pursue investments in oil and gas properties in North America. The partnership combines PNR’s operational and technical knowledge with KKR’s financial and investment expertise to source attractive investment opportunities and invest conventional and unconventional assets in diverse basins across the U.S. Since forming the partnership, PNR has acquired approximately $980 Million of producing assets making over 215 MMcfge per day of gross operated production in three states.

Chris Jacobsen is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Natural Resources, an independent oil and gas company formed after the January 2006 acquisition of Vintage Petroleum by Occidental Petroleum. Prior to forming Premier, Chris was Vice President of U.S. Operations and Exploitation for Vintage, having joined them in 2002. Since 1992, Chris has served as either Vice President or Sr. Vice President with Vintage Petroleum, KCS Energy, and Medallion Production Company.  While in these positions, he maintained oversight of certain acquisition, exploration, exploitation and production teams. Before relocating to Tulsa in 1992, Chris was Sr. Vice President with Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc. where he worked on or supervised engineering and geologic/geophysical teams during his 12 year tenure.

Chris began his career with Exxon Company, USA in 1977, having graduated with honors as a B.S. Chemical Engineer and an Economics minor from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, IN. During his five years with Exxon, he held various engineering and supervisory responsibilities with an emphasis on reservoir engineering in the Louisiana Gulf Coast and offshore Gulf of Mexico.

In addition to his professional career, Chris has served in various capacities in the community including Mayor Pro Tem/City Councilman of Sachse, TX (Dallas County) and Member of the Dallas County Mobility Coalition for Thoroughfare Development in the Dallas Metroplex, as an adult leader and member of the Friends of Scouts Committee for the Tulsa Council of Boy Scouts of America and as Junior Achievement Counselor.  Currently, he sits on The University of Tulsa’s Petroleum Engineering Industry Advisory Board and serves as a Board Member of the BSA Indian Nations Council.
